YouLend alternatives: the UK competitors compared

YouLend, often typed as You Lend, is on our panel, and so are the five lenders it is most often searched against. What separates them is product shape and published criteria: who repays from card takings and who repays to a schedule, who will look at a business trading under a year, and how large each facility runs. This page sets those out.

Ranges, repayment mechanics and timings are each lender's own published terms, read on 9 September 2026. None of it is an offer; the lender decides every case on its own criteria. Naming a lender describes our panel and is not an endorsement.

Why comparing matters

Because the criteria sit a long way apart, and most of them are only visible once you apply. Of the 55 unsecured lenders on our panel at September 2026, 21 will look at a business trading under a year and 5 at a genuine start-up. On credit history, 24 accept a default or judgment settled or older than 24 months, and 8 will look at repeated recent ones.

A business that applies to one lender at a time learns those floors one application at a time. We check the published criteria first and submit only where the case fits, so the offers that come back are from lenders that write the product at your size and trading age. The lender still makes every decision.

Which product shape matches your business?

General information on how the lenders differ, not advice. We don't recommend a product to you. We arrange, and you choose.

You sell online via Shopify, Amazon, or eBay

YouLend lists Amazon, Shopify and eBay among its partners, so the platform passes sales data straight to its underwriter, and in the UK its Amazon route pairs a cash advance with a pre-approved Flexible Financing Line. iwoca can connect to Amazon and PayPal accounts when it sizes a limit.

You run a restaurant, pub, or retail shop

365 Finance publishes floors of six months' trading and £10,000 of monthly card takings, and its advance repays as a fixed share of daily card sales (365finance.co.uk, 9 September 2026). YouLend names hospitality and retail among the sectors it funds and is offered through Dojo, EposNow and Just Eat.

You want repayments that move with takings

Two published structures move with you in different ways. A card-split advance from YouLend or 365 Finance collects a fixed share of each day's takings, so a quiet week collects less. iwoca's facility is drawn, repaid and redrawn up to the limit, so you hold only what you need for as long as you need it.

You need a larger amount (£50K+)

Published ceilings at 9 September 2026: YouLend up to £2,000,000, Capify £3,000,000, iwoca £1,000,000, Fleximize £1,000,000, Funding Circle £750,000 and 365 Finance £500,000. A ceiling is the most a lender's product allows, and the amount offered is sized from turnover; Fleximize, for instance, lends up to four months of revenue.

You want the money quickly

Published timings: iwoca pays out within hours of approval; YouLend says approval in as little as 24 hours and funds within 48; 365 Finance quotes approval within 24 hours and funding within days; Capify and Fleximize both quote decisions in 24 hours; Funding Circle a decision in as little as an hour and funds typically in 48. Every one of those is the lender's own claim for a complete application.

How each alternative differs from YouLend

YouLend's advance runs up to £2,000,000 and repays as a fixed share of each day's card sales agreed at the start, with approval quoted in as little as 24 hours (youlend.com, 9 September 2026). Each YouLend competitor below structures the product differently, and that is the practical difference between them.

  • 365 Finance writes the same card-split advance, £10,000 to £500,000, with published floors of six months' trading and £10,000 of monthly card takings, typically cleared within five to ten months (365finance.co.uk, 9 September 2026). Our YouLend vs 365 Finance page sets the two side by side.
  • iwoca is a Flexi-Loan facility of £1,000 to £1,000,000 held for one day to five years: you transfer what you need, repay it and draw again, and the limit is reviewed upwards as the business grows. Repayments run to a schedule rather than out of card takings (iwoca.co.uk, 9 September 2026). See iwoca vs YouLend.
  • Funding Circle is a fixed-term loan of £10,000 to £750,000 over six months to six years in fixed monthly instalments, for limited companies and LLPs trading a year or more, applied for online in about seven minutes (fundingcircle.com, 9 September 2026).
  • Capify sells instalment loans of £10,000 to £3,000,000 on its direct site, repaid daily or weekly over 3 to 12 months, for UK businesses trading 12 months with £10,000 of monthly turnover (capify.co.uk, 9 September 2026). See YouLend vs Capify.
  • Fleximize writes the Flexiloan over 12 to 60 months for businesses trading 12 months or more, and the Flexiloan Lite over 3 to 12 months from six months of trading, both from £10,000 to £1,000,000 across unsecured and secured options, with top-ups and repayment holidays included (fleximize.com, 9 September 2026).

The panel holds 55 unsecured lenders at September 2026, so these five are the names searched against YouLend most often rather than the whole list. Naming a lender describes our panel, implies no affiliation, and is not an endorsement. Every lender decides its own case.

Frequently asked questions

What other providers can I compare alongside YouLend?

365 Finance, iwoca, Capify, Funding Circle and Fleximize all sit alongside YouLend on our panel, and each publishes a different product shape. 365 Finance advances £10,000 to £500,000 against card takings. iwoca is a drawdown facility of £1,000 to £1,000,000 held for one day to five years. Capify sells instalment loans of £10,000 to £3,000,000, Funding Circle a fixed-term loan of £10,000 to £750,000 over six months to six years, and Fleximize the Flexiloan and Flexiloan Lite over 3 to 60 months. All of that was read on the lenders’ own sites on 9 September 2026.

Who are YouLend's main competitors in the UK?

For a card-split advance the closest YouLend competitor is 365 Finance, which writes the same product against daily card takings. For a business that would rather repay to a schedule, the names searched against YouLend are iwoca (a drawdown facility), Capify (daily or weekly instalments), Funding Circle (a fixed-term loan) and Fleximize (the Flexiloan). All five are on our panel alongside YouLend, and one enquiry through CapExpand is checked against every one of them at once, so you compare the offers rather than the marketing. Our separate YouLend review at capexpand.com/business-funding/merchant-cash-advance/youlend covers YouLend on its own.

What is YouLend, and who lends the money?

YouLend is a London embedded-finance company that funds merchant cash advances through card processors and selling platforms rather than through branches. The UK trading company is YouLend Limited, Companies House 12576377, incorporated 28 April 2020 at 90 High Holborn, and it acts as agent for a set of lending subsidiaries, so the counterparty on an agreement can be a name such as YL VI Limited. The book is funded by a £4 billion private securitisation agreed with J.P. Morgan in January 2024, and the ultimate owner is the private equity group EQT.

Is YouLend a bank?

No. YouLend Limited is authorised by the FCA as a payment institution under firm reference number 947287, granted 29 June 2023, and that permission covers the settlement accounts your card takings pass through while an advance is live. An advance to a limited company sits outside regulated consumer credit, so the protections are the contractual ones written into the agreement, which is a reason to read it before drawdown. You can check any firm at register.fca.org.uk.

What if YouLend's model doesn't suit my business?

Then a different published criterion is usually the way through. Every lender on the panel sets its own floors, and they sit a long way apart: at September 2026, 21 of our 55 unsecured lenders will consider a company trading under a year, and 24 accept a default or judgment that is settled or older than 24 months. One enquiry through CapExpand is checked against those criteria before anything is submitted, and each lender still decides its own case.

Does comparing lenders affect my credit score?

Enquiring does not affect your credit score. A lender may run its own credit search later if you go ahead with an application to it, and that happens with your consent, after you have seen the offer and decided to proceed.

Why compare through CapExpand instead of applying directly?

One enquiry goes to the lenders on this page whose published criteria you meet, YouLend included, and the offers come back to you to choose between. Our service is free to you: the lender pays us, and each lender still makes its own decision.

How many alternatives can CapExpand actually access?

Our unsecured panel currently holds 55 lenders, part of 200+ lenders across all products, and the full roster is published on our lender directory at capexpand.com/business-funding/lenders. One enquiry is checked against the lot, and we approach only the lenders whose criteria you fit. Figures checked September 2026, and panel composition changes over time.

Alex actually asked about the business, what the money was for, and how my card sales were looking. Then he said he thought he could find me something. And he did.
