The lenders behind CapExpand
Through our broker network we place cases with a panel of 200+ UK lenders offering 2,000+ products, from high-street banks to specialist funds. This page sets out how deep that panel goes for each product, names the lenders you are most likely to recognise, and collects every lender review we have published in one place.
Counts checked September 2026. Panel composition changes over time, named lenders are examples rather than the full list, and inclusion is not an endorsement. We check criteria first and approach only the lenders whose requirements your business fits.
The panel, product by product
Depth is what you are hiring a broker for: the more lenders a product holds, the less your case has to bend to fit one lender's box.

How this directory is kept honest
- ✓Panel counts come from a full extract of our broker platform, re-checked quarterly, and every figure rounds down.
- ✓Review facts come from lender-published rates, criteria and terms, with the date we checked them stated on the page.
- ✓We say plainly who a lender does not suit. A directory that only says nice things is an advert, and an advert is no use to you.
- ✓No invented testimonials, no third-party review scores dressed up as our own, no pay-to-be-listed placements.
Common questions
How many lenders does CapExpand work with?▼
Through our broker network we place cases with a panel of 200+ UK lenders offering 2,000+ products, from high-street banks to specialist funds. That breaks down by product: 60 for unsecured business loans, 20+ for secured business loans, 60+ for asset finance, 20+ for invoice finance, 45+ for commercial mortgages, 30+ for buy-to-let mortgages, 60 for bridging finance, 60+ for development finance. Figures were checked in September 2026 and panel composition changes over time.
Why is the full lender list not published?▼
Because it moves. Lenders join, pause and change criteria month to month, and a static list would mislead within a quarter. The names on this page are examples we can stand behind today. Full lender particulars for your specific case are available on request, and the shortlist we actually approach is always shared with you before anything is submitted.
Do you work with high-street banks or only alternative lenders?▼
Both. HSBC, Barclays, Lloyds and NatWest sit on our commercial mortgage and business lending panels alongside challengers such as Allica, OakNorth, Aldermore and Shawbrook, and the specialist funds below them. Bank criteria are usually the tightest and the pricing the sharpest, so where a case fits a bank we start there. The rest of the panel exists for the many good businesses that do not.
Can I choose which lender you approach?▼
Yes. If you want your case in front of a specific lender, tell us and we will say plainly whether your numbers fit their criteria before anything is submitted. What we will not do is blanket-apply across the panel; each application is placed deliberately, which protects your credit file and keeps lenders taking our cases seriously.
Are your lender reviews independent?▼
Our reviews are built from each lender's own published rates, criteria and terms, checked on a stated date, and they say plainly who a lender does not suit. Some of the lenders we review pay us a commission when an introduction completes and some are not on our panel at all; either way the facts come from the public record and we never publish invented testimonials or scores. CapExpand introduces limited companies and LLPs on a non-regulated basis and is not an FCA-authorised firm.
