How CapExpand works
No jargon, no smoke. We are a UK commercial finance team in Nottingham, founded by Alex Beardsley. We arrange finance for UK limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships through a panel of lenders, help you understand the options, and get applications to completion. Here is exactly who we are, how we are paid, and the standards we hold ourselves to, so you, and the lenders we work with, know precisely what you are dealing with.

What we are, and what we are not
Being straight about this matters, to you and to the lenders who put their name next to ours. We do not hide the model.
What we are
- A commercial finance broker team
- A credit broker: CapExpand Ltd (FRN 1060885) is an Appointed Representative of White Rose Finance Group Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 630772)
- A free service for the business owner
- One enquiry compared across a panel of lenders
- Open and upfront about how we are paid
What we are not
- Not a lender, we do not lend our own money
- Not a financial adviser, we do not give advice
Our lender panel
Through our broker network we place cases with a panel of 200+ UK lenders offering 1,800+ products, from high-street banks to specialist funds. That covers eight categories: unsecured and secured loans, asset finance, invoice finance, commercial mortgages, buy-to-let, bridging and development finance. The mechanics matter as much as the number. We do not spray your application across the panel; we run your case against lender criteria first and approach only the ones whose box you genuinely fit, which protects your credit file and our relationships with lenders. Counts checked September 2026; panel composition changes over time and full lender particulars are available on request.
For working capital and cash advances, lenders on our panel complete deals for businesses we introduce most weeks, including the ones below. For asset, property, invoice and acquisition finance we work with specialist lenders suited to each product.
The counts behind that sentence, product by product: 55 unsecured lenders, 19 secured, 38 asset finance, 20 invoice finance, 45 commercial mortgage, 28 buy-to-let, 53 bridging and 51 development lenders. Product ceilings run from £1,000 to £20 million unsecured to £5,000 to £300 million on bridging, all checked September 2026.
Reading criteria before approaching anyone is the part that does the work. 24 of the unsecured lenders accept minor adverse credit older than 24 months and 8 will consider moderate adverse; 21 lend to a business under a year old; 39 do not require a director who owns a home (checked September 2026). Knowing which lender sits in which of those groups is what stops an application going somewhere it was always going to fail.
We publish the rate spans too, because a panel count on its own tells you nothing about cost. At £50,000 unsecured, 47 lenders cover the amount over terms from 1 to 120 months, with published rates spanning 4.1% to 70.8% and a median floor of 17% (checked September 2026). Those are spans across panel products, never a quote, and the lender sets your price.

How we are paid
Our service is free to you. We are paid a commission by the lender if, and only if, a deal completes. We think you should know how that works rather than wonder about it, so here are the models we work under.
Fixed fee
A set amount agreed with the lender, regardless of the deal size.
Percentage of the amount funded
A percentage of what the lender advances to you.
Rate for risk
Based on the risk profile of the business and the deal.
Different lenders pay different amounts under different models. The commission does not come out of your pocket, and the detail of the model and amount is disclosed to you through your journey. The commission is paid by the lender out of its own pricing; we disclose the model, and the amount for your deal, on request.
Our process
You tell us what you need
A short enquiry or a phone call. Business details and what the funding is for. No credit footprint to start.
We match you to lenders
We approach the lenders on our panel whose criteria you fit and who suit the product you need.
A real person explains the options
Your account manager talks you through the costs, the terms and the trade-offs. Plain English, no pressure.
You choose, the lender funds
You pick the option that works, or walk away. If you proceed, the lender completes and funds the deal.
Track record
Businesses we introduce complete merchant cash advance and business loan deals with lenders like YouLend, 365 Finance, iwoca, Capify and Funding Circle on a regular basis, and we introduce clients to specialist lenders for asset, property, invoice and acquisition finance. We cover the full range of business funding rather than a single product.
A recent deal
In June 2026 a limited company we introduced completed a £100,000 hire purchase facility for a Range Rover Autobiography, on a 24 month term with no balloon. Client anonymised, real terms. You can see the full breakdown on our asset finance page.
Real reviews from businesses we have helped are on our Trustpilot, and more on our case studies and testimonials pages.

Common questions
Is CapExpand a lender?▼
No. CapExpand is a commercial finance broker. We arrange funding for UK businesses with a panel of lenders and funders. We do not lend our own money and we do not make the lending decision, the lender does. We work with UK limited companies, LLPs, sole traders and partnerships.
What is CapExpand's status with the Financial Conduct Authority?▼
CapExpand Ltd is not directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. CapExpand Ltd (FRN 1060885) is an Appointed Representative of White Rose Finance Group Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 630772). That appointment means White Rose Finance Group Limited is responsible for our credit broking, and both firms appear on the Financial Services Register at register.fca.org.uk. We are a credit broker, not a lender. We do not give financial advice.
What does it cost me to use CapExpand?▼
Nothing. Our service is free to the business. We are paid a commission by the lender if a deal completes. Different lenders pay different amounts under different commission models, and we disclose the detail through your journey.
How do you choose which lenders to use?▼
We look at your business and the funding you need, and we approach the lenders on our panel whose criteria you fit. We compare, we explain the options, and the decision is always yours. Lender particulars are available on request.
What happens to my data?▼
We handle your information in line with UK data protection law. CapExpand Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZB789649. We only share your details with lenders relevant to your enquiry, and our privacy policy sets out the detail.
How do I complain if something goes wrong?▼
We take complaints seriously. Our complaints process is on our complaints page. If your complaint concerns an FCA-regulated lender rather than our introduction, they will have their own complaints procedure, and depending on your eligibility you may be able to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
