Fleximize Review UK 2026: Flexiloan Rates, Fees and Criteria
Fleximize lends £10,000 to £500,000 unsecured, and up to £1,000,000 secured, over 3 to 60 months, at published rates from 0.9% a month with no arrangement fees and no early repayment fees. The catch most applicants find out too late sits in its FAQ: non-homeowners are capped at £20,000, and only after three years of trading. This review sets out what Fleximize publishes, checked against its own pages in September 2026, and who the product genuinely suits.

Who Fleximize is
Fleximize is an Ipswich-based digital lender that has been writing flexible term loans since 2014, part of the Alterium group, with hundreds of millions lent on its own figures and a Trustpilot score of 4.8 from around 1,100 reviews when we checked in September 2026. It has won Best Business Loan Provider at the Business Moneyfacts Awards three years running. Its products are two versions of the same idea: the Flexiloan, a 12-to-60-month term loan for businesses trading a year or more, and the Flexiloan Lite, a 3-to-12-month version that opens the door at six months of trading.
What sets the pair apart from most of the unsecured market is the fee position. Fleximize publishes no set-up, application or arrangement fees for direct applications, and its Penalty-Free Promise means early repayment costs nothing, with interest recalculated so you pay only for the time the money was out. Top-ups and repayment holidays come as standard, with top-ups available after three successful repayments. On paper that is one of the cleanest fee structures in UK unsecured lending; the pricing, covered below, is where the risk is priced instead.

Figures checked September 2026 against the sources listed at the end of this page. Lender terms change without notice, and the rate an individual business is offered depends on its own profile.
What the pricing means in practice
The 0.9% a month floor reads cheaply, and for the strongest cases on the longest product it is competitive. But monthly rates need translating before comparison: Fleximize's own representative example for smaller loans works out at 41.1% APR, built on a fixed annual rate of 34.9%. The honest reading is that a strong, established, homeowner-backed business borrowing over several years sits near the bottom of the range, while a younger business on the Lite product sits meaningfully higher. Neither number is a scandal for unsecured lending at this speed; the point is to compare your actual offer, not the floor of the range.
The fee structure is where Fleximize earns a genuine edge. A loan with no arrangement fee and free early settlement, with interest recalculated to the days used, behaves very differently from a fixed-fee product such as a merchant cash advance, where the total cost is set on day one and clearing early saves nothing. A business that expects to repay ahead of schedule should weight that heavily; a business that will run the full term should compare total repayable and ignore the promise entirely.
Eligibility, as published, and the homeowner line
The published criteria are specific, which is to Fleximize's credit. UK-registered limited companies and LLPs with at least one UK-resident director; minimum monthly turnover of £5,000; six months of trading for the Lite, twelve for the full Flexiloan. Sole traders and non-limited partnerships with fewer than four partners are accepted only above £25,000. A personal guarantee from at least one director or shareholder is required on every loan. Businesses in Scotland and Northern Ireland are supported on an unsecured basis only, up to £500,000.
Then there is the line that decides more applications than any of the above, published in the FAQ rather than on the product page: Fleximize can only support non-homeowners who have been trading for over 36 months, and then only up to £20,000. In plain terms, a homeowner director is close to a requirement for meaningful amounts. If nobody on the board owns property, your realistic Fleximize offer is small regardless of what the calculator suggested, and lenders that weight the business rather than the directors' assets, covered on our business loans page, are the better starting point.
Speed
Fleximize quotes decisions in as little as 24 hours with same-day funding after approval, and the applications we see are consistent with a fast, human-reviewed process rather than an instant algorithmic one. Clean, well-documented cases move quickest. Our guide to how alternative lenders assess applications covers what underwriters want to see and why timelines stretch when it is missing.
Where the Flexiloan fits, and where it does not
Against iwoca's Flexi-Loan, reviewed here, the comparison is structure. iwoca is a credit line charged on the drawn balance, at its best for money needed in bursts; Fleximize is a term loan with unusually generous exit terms, at its best for a defined lump sum where you want the option of clearing early for free. Both publish no early repayment penalties, so the choice usually comes down to whether the business wants a facility to dip into or a sum to deploy.
Against a merchant cash advance, the trade is the usual one: the advance flexes with card takings and fixes its total cost up front, the loan offers a lower cost for businesses that can carry a fixed monthly payment and may repay early. And because Fleximize sizes loans at around four months of revenue, businesses with strong, steady turnover get the most out of it, while lumpy, project-based income tends to fit revenue-sized lending poorly wherever it is placed. For that pattern, our working capital page covers structures that flex instead.
How CapExpand fits in
Fleximize is one of the lenders on our panel and one of the six names on our homepage for a reason: we place unsecured cases with it regularly. CapExpand is a commercial finance introducer, not a lender: we put a business's case to the lenders on our panel whose criteria fit, Fleximize among them, and the lender makes its own assessment and decision. We currently work with UK limited companies and LLPs only, for business and commercial purposes. The service costs the business nothing; the lender pays us a commission if a deal completes. The full panel is set out in our lender directory, and the mechanics on our how we work page.
Frequently asked questions
What interest rate does Fleximize charge?
Fleximize prices per month rather than per year. The published range is 0.9% to 2.9% a month on the Flexiloan, its 12-to-60-month product, and 1.9% to 3.9% a month on the Flexiloan Lite, the 3-to-12-month version for younger businesses. The floor goes to the strongest cases; for loans of £25,000 or below Fleximize publishes a representative example of 41.1% APR, based on a fixed annual rate of 34.9% on £15,000 over 18 months.
Does Fleximize charge arrangement or early repayment fees?
Its published position is no set-up, application or arrangement fees when applying directly, and no early repayment fees under what it calls the Penalty-Free Promise. Repay early and the interest is recalculated so you pay only for the time you actually had the loan. That combination is genuinely unusual in this part of the market and changes the total-cost comparison against lenders with fixed fees.
How much can I borrow from Fleximize?
The headline range is £10,000 up to £1,000,000, but two published limits matter more in practice: unsecured lending tops out at £500,000, with the £1,000,000 ceiling reserved for secured loans, and loans are sized at up to around four months of revenue. For most SMEs the revenue multiple, not the headline ceiling, decides the offer.
Do I need to be a homeowner to borrow from Fleximize?
Usually, yes. Fleximize states in its FAQ that it can only support non-homeowners who have been trading for over 36 months, and then only up to £20,000. A homeowner director changes the picture entirely. This single line decides more marginal applications than the rate table does, and it is worth knowing before you apply rather than after.
What are the eligibility criteria for a Flexiloan?
As published: a UK-registered limited company or LLP with at least one UK-resident director, a minimum monthly turnover of £5,000, and at least six months of trading for the Flexiloan Lite or twelve months for the full Flexiloan. Sole traders and non-limited partnerships with fewer than four partners can apply only for loans over £25,000. A personal guarantee from at least one director or shareholder is required, and secured loans take an equitable charge.
How fast does Fleximize pay out?
Fleximize quotes decisions in as little as 24 hours, with funds typically available the same day once approved. As with any lender, that is the clean-case speed: applications needing follow-up information or involving secured lending take longer.
What is the difference between the Flexiloan and the Flexiloan Lite?
Trading history and term. The Flexiloan is for businesses trading 12 months or more, runs 12 to 60 months, and prices from 0.9% a month. The Flexiloan Lite is for businesses trading at least six months, runs 3 to 12 months, and prices from 1.9% a month. Both carry the same fee position and the same top-up and repayment holiday features.
