Read against the novuna.co.uk Business Cash Flow pages for invoice finance, invoice factoring, invoice discounting, selective invoice finance and solutions, the Business Finance asset finance, introducer and broker pages, three asset finance FAQ answers, the Mitsubishi HC Capital UK financial performance table and Companies House, all on 21 September 2026.

The short answer

Novuna is the trading name of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, company number 01630491, a Staines based lender whose parent wrote £5.54bn of new business in the year to 31 March 2026. Two of its divisions matter to a UK business: Novuna Business Cash Flow, which funds unpaid invoices at up to 90% of their value and says it provides over £2bn a year to more than 1,000 SMEs, and Novuna Business Finance, which writes hire purchase and leasing for firms trading three years or more.

Novuna is on our panel. At September 2026 we held 8 live Novuna products, split evenly between 4 invoice finance and 4 asset finance, and both divisions publish a broker route, so a case from us goes in through the channel each one runs for intermediaries.

What we can place with Novuna

Novuna sits on our panel with 8 live products across 2 categories. This is what we hold, not what they advertise.

CategoryProductsSizeTerm
asset finance4£5,000 to £10m1 month to 7 years
invoice finance4£25,000 to £25m3 months to 12 months

Spans across Novuna products on our panel, checked September 2026, and set out for the whole panel in The UK SME Lending Panel 2026. Shown per category, because one range across different product types would describe something no business can actually have. These are not offers, quotes or rates you will be given, and a dash means we hold no published figure for that field. All lending is subject to status and the lender's own checks. Naming a lender is a fact about our panel: it is not an endorsement of CapExpand by Novuna, and implies no affiliation. Panel composition changes.

What Novuna lends

Invoice factoring is the fuller service. Novuna advances up to 90% of each invoice, the factoring page gives £9,000 on a £10,000 invoice as its worked example, and Novuna then collects from the customer and pays over the balance, which it says is often within 24 hours of the customer settling. The page says funding can be arranged the same day where needed, that approval and set-up usually take a few days, and that the product is used in construction, wholesale, recruitment, manufacturing, logistics and temporary payroll.

Invoice discounting keeps collections in house. The business raises invoices as normal, draws up to 90% against them, and carries on chasing its own customers; the page says the arrangement is usually confidential and that most facilities go live within 24 to 72 hours of underwriting. Selective invoice finance is a rolling facility where the client picks which invoices to fund, aimed at firms with large individual invoices, seasonal cash flow or a wish to try the product before committing a whole ledger. Spot factoring covers a one-off invoice.

Novuna Business Finance funds equipment through hire purchase and leasing, and its own page states that it does not offer business loans. Sector pages cover construction, manufacturing, transport, agriculture, technology, renewable energy, healthcare, garage equipment and business cars, and the finance products page describes variable deposits, balloon payments and repayments shaped to income cycles. For dealers and manufacturers it runs point of sale finance and stock finance, and for brokers a block discounting line that releases capital tied up in their own customer agreements.

The Business Cash Flow site also says, on its process steps, that it compares providers and can put forward either an in-house facility or an alternative, so an invoice finance enquiry made direct to Novuna can end with another funder. The Business Finance side says it has funded over £5bn to UK companies across more than 50 industries during 40 years of trading.

Who Novuna lends to

Invoice finance is judged on the invoices. The factoring page says eligibility rests on the value of what a business has billed rather than its trading history, that new businesses are taken on, and that no fixed assets are needed. The one hard rule on the enquiry form is that the business invoices other businesses on trade credit terms, so a retailer selling to the public has nothing to fund. Wholesalers, manufacturers, agencies and construction firms are the examples the invoice finance page gives.

Asset finance has a firmer bar. Applicants must be a UK limited company, public limited company, limited liability partnership, sole trader or partnership, must have traded for at least three years, and must want hire purchase or leasing. The deposit FAQ says Novuna “normally ask for a minimum 10% deposit” and sets the figure case by case on affordability, and the information FAQ says it may ask for the latest accounts and bank statements to show the monthly repayments are affordable when due. Each request, another FAQ says, is assessed individually across a number of factors by its underwriters.

Both sites carry the same footer: Novuna is a trading style of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, authorised and regulated by the FCA under Financial Services Register number 704348, and the entry can be read at register.fca.org.uk. A hire purchase agreement with a sole trader may fall within consumer credit rules where a company agreement would not, which changes the paperwork rather than the decision.

How an application runs

An invoice finance enquiry starts with the business describing its invoice profile, after which Novuna says it compares options, supports the application and onboards the client, quoting 24 to 72 hours as the usual time to cash. The cash flow team is open 08:45 to 17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 to 16:45 on Friday, and once a facility is live an invoice raised today can be funded tomorrow.

Asset finance brokers submit through Mercury, Novuna's online proposal system, which the broker page says gives control of what is submitted and tracks each proposal's progress, with a document portal for farm and commercial paperwork alongside. Direct applicants use the enquiry forms on the site, and the deposit and payment schedule are settled at the start of the agreement. The Business Finance desk answers 8:00 to 18:00 on weekdays.

Send the figures to us and they are read against Novuna and the rest of the panel before any proposal goes in, then a named case handler submits through the right Novuna channel. We arrange; Novuna decides. Enquiring does not affect your credit score.

Novuna on our panel

At September 2026 our 4 Novuna invoice finance products ran from £25,000 through to £25m over facility terms of 3 months through to 12 months, and the 4 asset finance products from £5,000 through to £10m over 1 month through to 7 years. The two categories are kept apart on purpose, since a ledger facility and a seven-year hire purchase have nothing in common beyond the lender, and each span describes what we held on that date rather than a quote.

For context, at September 2026 we counted 14 lender brands on the panel with a live invoice finance product open to a start-up, 15 taking a business under a year old and 17 accepting a non-homeowner director; on assets, 31 brands fund factory plant, 23 gym equipment and 18 EV charging. Each is a count of brands with at least one live product, and says nothing about Novuna's own rules.

Who Novuna suits

A good fit if

  • A business-to-business firm invoicing on 30, 60 or 90 day terms that wants up to 90% of an invoice inside 24 hours
  • A new company, since the factoring page says eligibility rests on the invoices rather than trading history
  • Construction, wholesale, recruitment, manufacturing and logistics ledgers, the sectors the factoring page names
  • A firm that wants to fund one large invoice at a time rather than sign over a whole ledger
  • An equipment purchase by a company, LLP, sole trader or partnership with three years of accounts and a 10% deposit

Outside its published criteria

  • A business that sells to consumers rather than to other businesses, which the invoice finance form asks about first
  • Asset finance for a firm under three years old, the published minimum on the Business Finance side
  • A working capital loan, since Novuna Business Finance states that it does not offer business loans

In short

Novuna is two lending desks under one FCA-registered company with a £9.6bn parent. The cash flow desk funds invoices at up to 90% within 24 hours and takes new businesses; the equipment desk writes hire purchase and leasing for five business structures once they have traded three years and can find a 10% deposit.

Novuna is on our panel with 8 live products at September 2026. One set of figures goes to Novuna and to the other panel lenders writing the same product, packaged by a named case handler who knows what each desk asks for. We arrange; Novuna decides.

Frequently asked questions

Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC, company number 01630491, incorporated on 21 April 1982 and registered in Cardiff, with its head office at Novuna House in Staines-upon-Thames. Its footer states it is authorised and regulated by the FCA under Financial Services Register number 704348, and the ultimate parent is Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc. of Japan. The UK company wrote £5.54bn of new business in the year to 31 March 2026.
Up to 90% of the invoice value, with the factoring page giving £9,000 on a £10,000 invoice as its example. The rest is paid over, less charges, when the customer settles, often within 24 hours of that payment. Once a facility is live, funds against a new invoice are available within 24 hours, and the site says same day funding can be arranged.
Yes. The factoring page says eligibility is based on the value of the invoices rather than trading history, that it works for new businesses, and that no fixed assets are needed. The requirement is that the business invoices other businesses on trade credit terms. Invoice discounting, where the client keeps its own collections, is described as suiting established firms with their own finance team.
Who chases the customer. Under factoring Novuna takes over collections and contacts the customers directly; under invoice discounting the business keeps managing its own ledger and the facility is usually confidential, so customers see no change. Both advance up to 90% of invoice value, and the discounting page says most facilities go live within 24 to 72 hours of underwriting.
A UK limited company, PLC, LLP, sole trader or partnership that has traded for at least three years and wants hire purchase or leasing. Novuna normally asks for a minimum 10% deposit, set on affordability, and may ask for the latest accounts and bank statements to show monthly repayments are affordable. Its own page states that it does not offer business loans.
Its sector pages, read 21 September 2026, cover construction, manufacturing, transport and logistics, agriculture, technology, renewable energy, healthcare, garage equipment and business cars, with a line inviting other sectors to ask. Dealers and manufacturers can use its point of sale and stock finance, and brokers can release capital from their own agreements through block discounting.
Its Business Cash Flow process steps say it compares providers and then offers either an in-house facility or an alternative, so an enquiry made direct may be placed elsewhere. Through us the comparison runs across the whole panel first, with Novuna as one of the lenders the case is read against, and a named case handler submits wherever the numbers fit.
