Swishfund Review UK 2026: Rates, Fees and Criteria
Swishfund lends £10,000 to £400,000 over up to 24 months at published rates of 1.1% to 3% a month, with funds in hours for smaller loans and no early settlement fees. Two details shape whether it is right for you: interest is calculated straight-line rather than on the reducing balance, and eligibility requires filed accounts, which quietly rules out the youngest businesses. This review sets out what Swishfund publishes, checked against its own pages in September 2026.

Who Swishfund is
Swishfund is a digital lender writing unsecured working-capital loans for UK limited companies, positioned a rung up the establishment ladder from the fastest-money lenders: it wants a year of accounts on file at Companies House and £50,000 of annual turnover, and in exchange it publishes its rate range openly, which many rivals in this lane do not. Its UK Trustpilot profile is small, scoring 4.3 from 28 reviews when we checked in September 2026, so treat the score as a light signal either way.
In placement terms it earns its seat on a panel with its appetite. Swishfund states funds can be used for any legitimate business activity, and in practice it entertains purposes plenty of lenders decline, including tax arrears and consolidating existing debt; our HMRC guide covers when borrowing against a tax bill makes sense and when a payment plan beats it.

Straight-line interest, translated
Swishfund is unusually transparent in saying its interest is calculated on a straight-line basis. Here is what that means in pounds. On a reducing-balance loan, each repayment shrinks the balance and the interest charged on it. Straight-line charges the monthly rate against the original amount for the whole term, even though your average outstanding balance is roughly half of it. The practical effect: a 1.5% a month straight-line loan costs close to what a 3% a month reducing-balance loan would, so comparing Swishfund's headline against a lender quoting reducing-balance rates flatters Swishfund unless you convert both to total repayable. Our factor rate vs APR guide walks through the same trap in its other common form, and the cost calculator does the conversion for you.
The counterweight is the settlement position: no early repayment fees, no minimum term, interest only to the end of the month you settle in. A business that borrows for headroom and clears the loan in month seven of twelve genuinely saves the remaining months, which is not true of fixed-fee lenders like Bizcap or Cubefunder unless a discount is agreed.
Eligibility: the filed-accounts gate
The published criteria look light, but the filed-accounts requirement does the real filtering. A first set of accounts is typically filed towards the end of a company's second year, so businesses younger than that are usually outside Swishfund's published scope regardless of turnover. For them, lenders with published entry bars measured in months of trading are the realistic route, covered in our business loans guide. On the other side of the gate, an established company with accounts on file and £50,000 of turnover gets a lender that publishes its rates and moves in hours.
Expect a personal guarantee as standard for unsecured limited-company lending of this kind, and expect security to enter the conversation at the larger end of the range. Ask exactly what is being taken before signing.
Where Swishfund fits, and where it does not
The fit is an established limited company that wants a meaningful sum quickly for a purpose the mainstream is sniffy about: clearing a tax bill, consolidating expensive short-term debt, buying stock from overseas, or general working capital where speed matters. It is also one of the few doors open at this speed to sectors other fast lenders often decline. The poor fit is a company without filed accounts, a borrower who will run the full term and could qualify for reducing-balance pricing elsewhere, or anyone comparing lenders on headline monthly rates without converting to total cost.
Against Fleximize, the closest published comparator, the trade is pricing basis against flexibility: Fleximize recalculates interest on early settlement and reaches five-year terms, Swishfund caps at 24 months on straight-line pricing but publishes wider purpose appetite and hour-scale payouts on smaller loans.
How CapExpand fits in
Swishfund is one of the lenders on our panel. CapExpand is a commercial finance introducer, not a lender: we put a business's case to the lenders on our panel whose criteria fit, Swishfund among them, and the lender makes its own assessment and decision. We currently work with UK limited companies and LLPs only, for business and commercial purposes. The service costs the business nothing; the lender pays us a commission if a deal completes. The full panel is set out in our lender directory, and the mechanics on our how we work page.
Frequently asked questions
What interest rate does Swishfund charge?
The published range is 1.1% to 3% per month depending on the loan, calculated on a straight-line basis rather than on the reducing balance. That distinction matters: because you repay the loan down each month but the interest keeps being charged on the original amount, the effective annual cost is meaningfully higher than the monthly figure multiplied by twelve. Always compare offers on the total repayable in pounds.
What fees does Swishfund charge?
A one-off arrangement fee, charged as a percentage and added to the loan rather than paid upfront; the percentage itself is not published. There are no early settlement fees, though interest runs to the end of the month in which you settle. Get the arrangement fee stated in pounds in any offer, because on a short loan it can rival the interest as the biggest single cost.
What are Swishfund’s eligibility criteria?
As published: a UK limited company with an active business bank account, turnover of at least £50,000 in the past year, and at least one set of annual accounts filed at Companies House. The filed-accounts requirement is the practical gate: it generally means the business is over a year old, which rules out the very young companies that lenders like Cubefunder or Bizcap will consider.
How much can I borrow from Swishfund, and for how long?
The published range is £10,000 to £400,000 over terms up to 24 months. Larger requests bring more scrutiny, and security can be required at the top of the range, so treat the upper numbers as available to strong cases rather than the norm.
How fast does Swishfund pay out?
For loans under £75,000, Swishfund quotes funds within a couple of hours of acceptance; for £75,000 to £400,000, within 48 hours. The application itself takes about 3 minutes, backed by a bank connection and your filed accounts. Clean documentation is what keeps those timelines real.
Can I repay Swishfund early?
Yes, with no early settlement fees and no minimum term; interest is charged up to the end of the month you settle in. On straight-line pricing, settling early saves the remaining months’ interest, which makes early repayment worth planning for if your cash flow allows it.
